among the beautiful thing about hawaii is an abundance of skateboard shops.
which sells skateboard tape in every color from basic black to blue, purple, yellow, etc.
I've been using that stuff for years, and a sheet of deck tape (skateboarder speak) will last for years worth of front straps. I tend to cut them a little long on the sides, have it wrap around the side of the grip frame slightly, then put the grips over them to really hold it in place.
the only thing to be aware of, is if you leave it on for a long time between changes. the adhesive will harden, and as you remove the grip tape. the hardened glue will stick to your frame, and most solvents will not cut it. I use a orange based goo cleaner, called goo gone, that softens the glue and allow it to be brushed off.
the other cool thing about skateboard tape is the look on face of the teenaged sale clerk. when a middle-aged fat guy buys a sheet, and they ask if it's for my son, and I tell'm, no its for me.
if you want pre-cut, check this guy out
