Homak Gun Safe

A friend and fellow shooter was taken by cancer approximately 2 years ago.
His wife has been disposing of some of his property and gave me his gun safe.
It is a brand I have never heard of and I don't have any paperwork on it.
Has any one heard of Homak gun safes?
The door is open and I don't want to close it until I can open it.
She gave me what she thought was the combination.
It has a rotary combination lock.
I don't know how to use the lock. Do I turn it a number of times before stopping at
the correct number? Do I turn it directly to the next number, or turn the dial a number
of turns first? Which way do I turn the dial?

Then, how do I change the combination?

I found Homak on the internet and contacted the company. I received a reply that
the safe is too old and they don't have any information about how to use the safe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your friend's passing. Hadn't heard of Homak until you mentioned them today. Seems like they make all kinds of safes and lock boxes.

I'm hoping this video will help you to open the safe:

This video covers resetting the combination:

I don't have any paperwork about the safe. Unfortunately, the wife, also a good friend, passed away two weeks ago.
Her only living son lives out of town and can't remember the combination.
Thanks for the website and video.
I see I need a special tool to change the combination. I probably will need to have a locksmith take a
look at the safe.

Thanks for the help!
