And they are antiques. Would you trust your life to a pistol that is anywhere from 78 to 120 years old? I have a 1903 in .32ACP. It shoots great. Conceals easily but was made just shy of 100 years ago.
Of course I would.

I trust my life to any of the guns I carry and in fact it is quite often one made a half century to century ago.

I would love a modern classic like these. I would love one really wallet friendly.

But…..

Magazines are a big issue. The USA Armament version when available are $40 or more each. Maybe more demand and production may drive the price down. But again ROI.

And, while the members of this forum might love a reincarnation of the 1908, I doubt the tacticool world would. This isn’t the 70’s/80’s even early 90’s when backup options were more limited. So a small group overall. No real collector would show much interest…. Cause it’s a clone.

The Colt authorized version were expensive for a reason. Companies are in the business to sell products. Seldom would they launch a product that from the start may cost more to gear up than they make in the long run. ROI matters

So yes. I still want one. But I would like an Officers Model ACP. first.

Great little pistols for sure. I believe there would be a great market for them too. I would bet that women would especially like them. If those are your pistols Greg Derr… nice!

Umm if Tisas would build these they would sell. U could even make a couple different variations of them etc…. Magazines would not be a problem- just gotta want to expand your line.

Assuming you mean a copy of the Officer's ACP, a shortened automatic, an Officer's Model is a target revolver.
The Colt Officer's Model or Colt Officer's ACP is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun based on the John M. Browning designed M1911. It was introduced

in 1985 as a response from Colt to numerous aftermarket companies making smaller versions of the M1911 pistol. Wikipedia

Yes… you are correct a Colt Officer Model

COLT OFFICER'S MODEL TARGET
"E" FRAME

In 1904 Colt introduced it's first medium frame double action target model revolver as the Colt Officer's Model.

I was speaking in the context of Colt Semi Auto. The name has been used interchangeably I should be specific.

But then if some really did reproduce a Colt Officer model revolver I would buy one in a heartbeat.

That was a fun project. I do like the 1903/08. I’m hoping to make one for myself some day.

The tacticool crowd would want a 1908 with red dot mount and co witnessed tritium sites and a threaded barrel. Fortunately there’s more than one type of gun buyer out there.

There are still lots and lots of original models in functioning condition out there so unless there was something new and functionally better or the new ones were significantly less expensive than the experienced ones I would likely not be a buyer.

That was true with the US Armament version. I seriously considered buying one but there was simply not enough difference to get me to hit the buy button. I'll just continue to use the ones I already have and if I wear them out either repair or replace from the existing stock.

The “magazine issue” is a red herring. Triple K has been selling these mags for many years. US Armament used them as their OEM magazine. I have at least a dozen of the Triple K mags and they all run 100%. Its not a complicated magazine and they are like Doritos, they can make as many as will sell.

Folks, read between the lines. SDS/Tisas has no interest in producing a 1903/1908 pistol.
