My son and I have been metal hunting at a deactivated Army Air Base, and found the two Garand Enblocs (International Silver) in the photo which were buried for 60+ years. They had a light rust overall when they came out of the peat moss they were lost in, but cleaned up well with some WD-40 and a bronze bristle brush. Loaded them up with fresh ammo and they work!
Begs the question, just how good was parkerizing, and have they really came up with anything better?
