I’m hoping the Kimber experts on this forum can settle a dispute I’m having with one of my shooting buddies who claims to know a lot about Kimber. It started whenI told him I was looking for a CDP for a long time and only see them online. He said that Kimber no longer made the CDP line? Is that true?

Yes, I’ve seen the website and their catalog but can’t remember when I’ve seen a new one in LGS or at a gun show. Are they really making them?
One exception, a LGS did get in one Micro 9 CDP a few weeks ago but it was gone in a few days.

Mark Why not call and ask kimber !! OR have a good lgs try to find what cartidge and model kimber you want instead of hoping to dumb luck into one seating in a display case . Or check sportsmans outdoor superstore as they show a number of CDP for sale . Ship to your lgs .
's in stock . Easy to search and see what you can find .

Yes, they are still being produced. Can find them out there if you look for them.

cazio, you won't be disappointed. I snagged a very well worn Super Carry Ultra + that was thrashed by it's previous owner. Sent it in to the mothership for complete rebuild, fresh night sights and refinish. She returned looking like new, ran perfectly with all new springs and is now in my EDC rotation.

Total cost for all the factory work was just a bit north of $400. Purty reasonable to me.

Hey there yes Kimber offers 4 CDP models the fullsize 5",the Pro and the ultra. The fourth is the CDP II which is listed under California legal models I believe they have the Swartz firing pin safety and the the CDP without the "II" in their name do not have it. It's also appears that the CDP non "II" models have a slightly different finish on their frame and a flat top slide as well.

I'm actually planning on getting a CDP ultra soon. I prefer them without the Swartz safety and I like the flat top slide and grey/blue frame color on the frame of CDP vs. the black on the CDP II.

I hope this helps you out. As a side note my current EDC in 45acp is kahr PM45 which I like a lot but it's no 3" 1911 well nothing is a 1911 except a 1911. That said the PM45 is considerably smaller and lighter than the 3" 1911. Mine is my third I've owned and it's reliable and very soft shooting and controllable also easy to conceal and carry.
