Yes folks Kimber finally got something right, for the longest time I have been "Jonesing" for a Micro 9 KHX, however over the last year I happened across a S&W CSX for the very low price of FREE, I took it out and shot it a lot and absolutely love the little gun albeit some issues ie-trigger false reset, no rail for a light, and not cut out for a sight. ya I hear they came out with a CSX E series, but too late for me because I already got my CDS9.
first of all, the Kimber was super hard to find locally and even nationally, however after about an hour of calling around to all the gun stores here in Vegas I found one, so I shot over and picked it up, paid around 9 Bennies for it and was happy for that price. I took it to the indoor range the next day and all I gotta say is.......I AM IMPRESSED!!! this gun is a very nice shooting piece of machinery. very easy to keep lined up with the target with the easy recoil. It ate everything I fed it and it was around 200 rounds without one issue whatsoever. on the same range trip I brought along a Kimber Micro 9(my wife's EDC) and my S&W CSX for comparison. this gun outshined them put together! when I think of all the improvements S&W should have done with the CSW, the Kimber has done with the CDS9! it is pretty much identical in dimensions of the CDS9 with the exception of the grip thickness, the CDS9 is a little chunkier than the CSX, and with the CSX not having the picatinny rail and cut out for a sight, it is a bit more concealable than the Kimber, but now by much, I will never get rid of my CSX however, there is something I really like about that gun. the CDS9 compared to the micro 9 shoots very similar however the Micro 9 is noticeably snappier than the CDS9, but it is way more concealable than the CDS9, and it fits my wife's small hands better.
Over all......if you are on the fence about getting one of these CDS9s I highly recommend you pick one up, ya the CSXs are cheaper(like half the price of the CDS9s), but quality and build of the CDS9 does command that higher price and is totally worth every pennie.
