You read correctly. I can’t think of an offering that is not available with the alloy frame (6 - 8 oz lighter). In fact, several packages (the Ultralight Carry and ULC Compact) highlight the alloy frame.

 

The Wilson Combat ACP model is not offered with aluminum frame.

 

great choice! like you, i'm a big fan of lightweight. calling wilson or george at miguns can help clear up what is available. george is also helpful in giving good advice on other options that you may not have noted. besides that, you can save some money to buy...ammo!

 

Be aware that the Sentinel Series use a non standard magazine. It is shorter than an Officers model and to the best of my knowledge available only from Wilson. The Ultralight Carry Compact is possibly another you should consider as it can use Officers magazines and is only 1 oz. heavier. The reason I mention this is you can get fully flush base mags for the UCC but not for the Sentinels which in reality makes them as tall as a compact due to the mag base sticking out.

 

I am a fan of the lightweight pistols offered by Wilson. I’ve carried a ULCC the majority of the time for the past 5+ years. I also have a lightweight Commander that carry’s and shoots great. I also have a lightweight Compact Commander on order which I think will probably unseat the ULCC as my everyday pistol.

 

Still a fan of steel 1911’s. But I have to admit that when I carry my EDCX9 or SFX9 I almost forget that I have it on my belt.

 

I got a Vickers Elite commander light weight on order now. It will be my 1st.

Here’s my current two, ULCC and ULC Commander.

 

I have 5 Wilson's with aluminum frame. Aluminum frame will be 6-8 ounces less depending on model. That makes a big difference when carrying all day. Mine show no wear whatsoever after shooting them for about 8 years. Wilson says if you wear out an aluminum frame. they will fix or replace it. So don't worry about wear.

 

Agreed! I have a lot of rounds thru my Hackathorn Commander LW. Still running great!

Hi Roger. I still check in and try to stay current. With Policing be what it is anymore, I'm buried with writing new COF's with decision making issues than at anytime before. Illinois politician hate the Police. Thank God the pendulum is swing back some. Of course I'm not quite WOKE yet! LOL!
