Llama Especial .22 LR, like new

Just picked up this very nice Llama Especial that looks almost unfired. I checked the firing pin and barrel for any signs of dry firing in the past and found none. It came with the original box, cleaning rod and two magazines that look like new.

Can any one help me out with the approximate year of manufacture and any other information you may have.

These photo’s may help.

I have read some of the negative reviews of these Llama 22’s, but this was too pretty to pass up.

I did some trading but I figure I have about $300.00 in it.

Thanks for your help.

That is exquisite. I've never seen anything like it, so I can't help you with dates. I searched Google and Wikipedia but couldn't find any corporate or "new" owner contacts.

Still, there might be some Llama experts here...you never know.

But that's a gem mint specimen worth hanging onto (y)

The Especial predated the XV, which I have. Mine is early 1980s vintage. I'm guessing yours is 1970s vintage. I have three mags for mine. One works perfectly, one fails to lock the slide back, and the third repeatedly fails to feed. I tried a Triple K magazine, and the next time I take this gun to the range I may use that mag as a target because that's all it's good for.

Mine is extremely fun to shoot... when it works. Unfortunately it also shoots way low and only holds a measly 8 rounds.

Just completely field stripped, cleaned and oiled the Llama. Everything looks like new even though it does show evidence of having been fired.

Not sure what the “555” means on the inside of the slide.

The magazines were a real challenge to put back together (about an hour each) :(.

Did find that the magazines hold 8 rounds.
