I Just received a colt MK IV Series 80 Mustang -380 Plus 2 from my grandfather, He purchased it brand new and it has only been fired 1 time and is in mint condition, the serial number is 1001 so I'm not sure if that means if its the very first one produced or if its just the 1001 produced, I'm not familiar with this handgun so give me your input on value/rarity, if it even is rare or not.

Usually great little guns, I’ve owned multiple examples of Mustangs an 2 Plus ll’s. All shot great and functioned perfectly. Very accurate and easy to shoot well. I have 2 still.
As far as values, all the competition has kept it in check and when Colt reintroduce the two versions of the Mustang, well, that also has affected the value. They still hold their value, especially the Plus ll.
