I don't know who this Tisas Rep guy is, I searched for that screen name but a TISAS USA came up. That one hasn't been online for at least 5 days.

Yeah I saw that. The way that “Tisas USA” use to interact (thumbs ups, correction to incorrect information, answering questions) has changed… just made me think they have a new Rep… or one could just throw out a random excuse like “vacation” 🤣

Ironically enough, the one sku that didn't have the billboard was dropped due to it being a slow mover. LOL.
You've told that story before, but the STEAK OUT was originally billboarded with that absurd name... and I didn't even believe I was going to get what I wanted when I ordered.

I thought the ones that showed up in pics on this site were a mistake... and Big Tisas was just helping you guys out.

In fact, continuing to call it the STEAK OUT to this day is actually just a cute throwback.

Anyway, I'll bet you can scrape together enough bucks for a Vendor subscription if you just save the machine operation and setup time on the GAYVIATOR.

Per conversation with the Tisas Rep (who is not on vacation) the finish on the MEUSOC is QPQ (not “almost definitely Manganese Phosphate Parkerized.”) I really appreciate the Tisas Rep getting back to me with that information. On a side note… this is a thread about the MAC MEUSOC.

Pretty interesting. The base gun for MAC MEUSOC pistol is Tisas ASF WWII style. Clearly Tisas has its own Parkerizing tank to make it proper finish. Why bother to spend effort on all the small parts detail and in the end fail to apply a simple Parkerzing?

Don’t know… but from a practical standpoint and durability, I’d rather have the QPQ. I really like my MAC JSOC and I don’t remember anyone being this critical over the JSOC. If there is any criticism warranted, it should be the MSRP. The MEUSOC should be $150.00 - $200.00 cheaper than the JSOC at a minimum. MAC has updated their website as well.

It is my understanding that the Marine Corps used Millett sights on the original MEUSOC pistols. Initially crimp and stake on styles were used but they would shoot loose. The solution to the loose front sight problem was to silver solder them in place. I hope that the MAC MEUSOC has a silver soldered front sight, if not I know what my first modification will be.

To be authentic, that front sight would need to be dual crimp. On a foreign copy, not sure others will go there. Parts and tooling for one thing. I wouldn’t do it. I don’t think many will go there…I wouldn’t.

I have debated building a MUESOC based on authentic parts or reproduced domestic parts, for a late Gen I or early Gen 2, save the frame.. A frame and a grip safety and I am kitted up. Only hang up I have is the configuration. Not my favorite. But the historic aspect…still on the mental back burner.

I could do a more ameanable gen III/IV if I gutted the Loaded I have for the slide…but I would keep the front crimped in sight. Dovetail it maybe. So the rules seem to be ‘flexible”.

I did the Caspian frame/ slide off my Loaded. Also picked up a complete Mil Spec upper to use in the Loaded frame.

The guy at the local gun store checked his supply line and his computer showed that the MSRP will be around mid $700, but he thinks he can sell it for under $600 and still make money. No definite available date yet.
