Well.... Long story short I had to radius the rear of a rear sight and I wanted it re-serrated too. I wanted to match it to the slide's radius at the rear. As-wuz, it was doing this unsightly overhang thing.. I decided to do it a little differently than I have before.

I think it was my very first shipwreck dive where I picked up this piece of steel. Not gonna say where it was because I >may< have violated a law, not realizing it at the time of course..... took a piece of coal too. At the time there was no talk of "underwater preserves" (no, that is not making jam out of seaweed or jelly out of jellyfish ;-) ).

Anyway, I had run across this thing and decided that it had been a mistake to take it off the wreck. It would never be recognized as anything but a very rusted, pitted piece of steel, and I would never be able to put it back-- one reason being, I could not even say now what the name of the wreck was! But I could put it to use. Make something new from something old (sank before the turn of the century).

So-- I cleaned up a few areas, did a little mill work and a little torch work...... and did the deed to the sight. It was not done in the slide's dovetail, it was done in another setup.
