Picked up a Springfield Emissary a few months ago and it was more of an impulse buy than something I was actually looking for. Sent it to Springfield for an ambi since I’m a lefty and then I swapped out the grips with some Woodcaliber Gaboon Ebony grips that were just sitting around wishing they had a gun to wear. The thin grips just didn’t feel right to me while shooting. Then put an aluminum trigger from my son’s Springfield loaded that he had replaced with another trigger in it. Next thing to go was the flgr because I hate needing a paper clip to take a gun apart. Got this cool plug from 10-8 Performance and now I can use a standard GI guide rod and spring and it’s about 1/4 the price of the Dawson Precision tool-less guide rod. And a Stan Chen magwell to finish it all off. Very happy with it now but I might go back to the stock trigger because I’m a fan of flat triggers and the stock trigger is kind of flat.
Anyway, that’s my Emissary.

Your apparently works and I'm happy for you
Mine is on its way back from its third factory trip
Call me hopeful
Ouch! Hopefully they get you squared away for good this time. It’s frustrating to drop a decent chunk of change on a gun and not have it work properly. 🤞

Did you replace the thin bushings with standard or universal bushings? And did the Chen SI go on with no fitting?

I used the bushings that came with it. I read somewhere that they are universal but couldn’t find the post. However, they are working great.
And yes, the Chen SI magwell went on without any fitting. There is a slight ledge at the back of the magwell, but it’s so slight I’m not concerned by it. Very happy with it.

Factory mags are Mecgar and they work very well. I also use Wilson Combat and ACT mags in it.

I did decide to go back to a flat trigger but got one from Ed Brown instead. Also ordered a trigger kit and ambi safety and I like it even more now. The bull barrel makes it softer shooting than any other 45
1911 I’ve ever shot. Keep in mind, these upgrades are NOT necessary to make this a good shooter. I just wanted to tinker a bit and the parts I got were 20% off when I ordered.
