I just got the word that my new SS 5" CQB 45acp is finished and shipping out today. I am so excited I can't sit still. Lol the build sheet is extensive with everything I wanted in a Custom WC. From the Gold domed bead and ledge rear to the one piece round butt MW. Everything is an upgrade. My ideal Wilson. I promised myself in the early 90s when I shot my first 1911 (a Wilson 5" CQB 45acp) that someday I would have my own!! Someday has finally arrived

I went to the Bell quite often, great cigar selection and I found my pipe blend there as well. Nothing like a good Macanudo and a day on the river, rod in hand.

I put 120 round I got from APG at the Bash thru it in May, the flourish under the trigger guard with the Ryan Wilson High Cut FS didn't play well with my middle finger shooting hand so I left it with Wilson when I came home and it is dehorned in that spot and rebead blasted. It will be spectacular I know. Wilson's CS is fantastic. This is a culmination of everything I ever wanted in a 1911 45acp. George at Michigan Gunslingers was great to work with and I can't recommend all of them enough. This one is so smooth to shoot and the trigger is excellent 👌 the flat wire RS helps with its smoothness.

Here it is. This one started life as a CQB. It has all of the Elite upgrades fs slide top serrations etc and is matte SS.
Domed Gold bead fs, wide black u notch ledge rs. Beautiful serrated top of slide. Lightening and ball cuts to nose of slide which come close to lining up with the dust cover. Heavy machine chamfer to bottom of slide, bare slide WC Logo rear of left side behind the serrations. Flat wire FL guide rod, shortened and flattened SS pin and beveled frame, solid medium trigger 3.5 lbs. It's close. Ryan Wilson High cut fs which Wilson smoothed out for me. 25lpi front and back checkering, flawless. Single safety fit very well, no mushiness or movement when off. Very positive audible and tactile feel. No side movement in trigger, breaks very cleanly. Mag release works well, could be a touch smoother. I found one tiny tiny line from the checkering at the bottom of the back strap that is almost imperceptibly longer than the others. Lol. I found it with a magnifying 🔎 Charlie gave me.

Wilson did a great job with this one. I am sooooooooo pleased with it

A big Thank You to George MI Gunslingers for this dream pistol

Oh yeah headed over to my buddy's house this weekend to do just that. I must have shot 155 rounds thru it at the Bash in May cause I only have 45 of them left out of 200 I got from APG. I will have my own ammo here in the next 3 weeks. Just had the floor laid in the loading hobby room and have a work bench found by flechero on the way. It's all coming together, finally

This is only the 2nd single stack I have been able to use the thumb safety without substantially shifting my grip. The fluted barrel hood is growing on me and does a great job of holding lube in this area. I have been using my little magnifying lens and the checkering/serration work is flawless, all the flats are flat, both sides mirror each other.

The wide U notch gives the front gold bead enough room on both sides for precision aiming. The rear of slide serrations are even, level and consistent top to bottom. The top of slide serrations are even, well formed and follow the theme at each end as done on FS and Mainspring housing/Magwell. One piece magwell is very well blended with the frame both inside and at the butt of the frame. The matte bead blasted finish is even throughout and rivals anything I have seen from other top tier houses

This CQB is worth every penny I spent!
