The fourth highest bidder was at $4050, the third highest dropped out after bidding $4100. Then the last two bidders ran it from $4125 up to the final selling price of $13,025.

From what I have seen on GB, the around $4000 range is the expected selling price for Nighthawk Custom Hi Powers. I was surprised to see it go over $5000, but OK...high but still within reason. Then amazed watching the sale and the two bidders run the price up.

Two stupid people for sure, they've obviously never handled one of those.
When I bought my 69 T Series the gun shop had one and I was able to compare them side by side, the T had a much better trigger in comparison and it's stock!
I thought $4k was way too much personally, they ain't that special. I was not impressed.

Sold to someone who has much more money than sense.

Remember what PT Barnum said.

But it wont be stamped "Nighthawk Customs", so it will essentially be a clone of this pistol. I'm not saying it was worth $13K, but it IS rare in the sense that it was a very limited run of production and will never be produced again. So, in twenty years, the buyer may get half his money back out of it...in fifty years he may get it all back.😉

The serial number is NHCB160676, as FlightMedic notes, these were a select group of Hi Powers ordered by Nighthawk through Browning and FN. From the article noted below, NH ordered from Browning and were shipped directly to NH by FN for finishing and serial numbers.

From Guns America Digest, Feb 2, 2017
"Nighthawk negotiated with Browning to have guns shipped to Nighthawk directly from the factory in Belgium. Browning also agreed to make specific modifications in the manufacturing process. The pistols that Nighthawk receives are unfinished in the white and with a bald slide with no sight cuts. This allows Nighthawk to cut the dovetails to their specifications for both the front and rear sights. A second change is the location of the serial number. Browning relocated the serial number from the frontstrap of the grip to the right side of the slide. Each Nighthawk Hi Power also has a custom serial number with an NHCB prefix indicating it is a Nighthawk Custom Browning. This was an important modification as it allowed Nighthawk to texture the frontstrap without having to work around the serial number."

Hey guys! I just bought the $13000 NHC hi power. I went outside and puked when I saw I won the auction. My wife thinks her explorer got stolen. Little does she know that I sold it to pay for the gun. I think I am in deep doo doo. What’s the opinion of everyone on this idea. How about I put this gun back up for auction and hope it sells for more than $13000 and take my earning and buy the old lady a new car before she finds out what I’ve done.
