If it's anywhere near as good as the Legion, you'll love the pistol. The P-226 SAO is one of the most fun shooting pistols I've ever experienced.

ZEV Technology, now doing for SIG what it previously did for Glock... making the pistols even uglier...;) I guess it's sorta cool, in a John Wick-ian kinda way...

But $1150 is a very good deal, at least where I'm at.

I do like the grip panels, but other than the slide (funky serrations, porting, fiber optic front sight, rear optics cut) and threaded barrel, did ZEV do anything else with the platform?

Interesting that ZEV is up here in Washington, but can no longer sell its wares to us with anything other than 10-round magazines.

I still love my Legions...

Re the 226. So I just took a class with a former member of SEAL Team 6. He told me that in his first five years, he went through 6 P226s. When each one would hit 100K rounds, they made him turn them in for a new one. Yes he shot 100K rds through six different P226s over a five year period. Needless to say, this guy can shoot a little.
I'm gonna say there's just a tad bit of exaggeration that this guy engaged in. 273 pistol rounds a day per year? Nope. Yes, DEVGRU guys shoot a butt-ton, but mostly through their carbines or other long guns. Also, DEVGRU transitioned from the 226 to the Glock 19 a couple years ago.

Of course, any SIG P-2226 would easily hold up to this volume of shooting. (Of course, the P-226 happens to be Old Dog's all-time favorite DA/SA semi-auto duty pistol)
