Pistol cases...what do you have?

Well I bought a new one from case club on Amazon. It holds five 1911's and a bunch (12) of magazines or four 1911's and headphones/magazines. It works nice, the foam is nice and dense.

Now I need another one for the other 4.

Here is a custom case by Gunfoam.com You can buy the case and foam from them or just the foam for a case you already have. This is a knock off a Pelican case. The layout you make yourself on their website. Basically take pictures and import into their website add a length dimension to scale the picture. Once you have all your items imported you drag and drop them where it makes sense for you. $200 for this particular case with the custom foam; it takes a week or two to cut the foam. $90 for foam only.

This is a two layer case. Top layer for my Nelson Conversion which is the pistol I take to most matches. Bottom layer is for a second 1911 and the 45 slide for the main gun. Room for mags, ammo, tools, and match essentials. I have another set of foam inserts for when I was using a different rim fire pistol; I learned a few lessons from that one. The first one was fine but this set up works really well for me on match day.

True, I rarely carry 5 to shoot at a time, but often I will bring 2 main pistols to shoot plus 1 more that is in some phase of testing a mod or new part, and needs to have a few rounds ran for testing. So a case that can hold 5 and a bunch of ammo is almost perfect.

Some cool cases, keep 'em coming.

I have several universal cases, Plano I believe, that depending on weapon, can hold two or none (my S&W 500 will not fit :( ). I always figured the more I carry in a single case, makes it all that much easier for someone to steal.

I use these by Target Sports, they hold 2 guns and 6 magazines, but I only use them for 1 gun each. I have for example a 38 Super and a 400 Corbon. Each case will be filled with 6 loaded mags, the gun and a spare box of ammo and then just set in the safe. I label them with a little tag, then just grab the bags I want and go.

If I have extra accessories for that gun, they go in there too, like a removable light. They come in OD green and black. I catch them on sale at CDNN.

We use something like Ranger4's pistol bag.
It's the Tactical pistol case from Midway, but they are out of stock right now.
Seven mag pockets under the flap, and two large pockets on the back.

Ours are modified to add a shoulder strap and a "bra" inside for the pistol"
We probably have a dozen of them - one for each pistol.

(I went through a Canik phase (shrug))

Then the "range bag" that holds just range stuff.
Ears, tools,
Also modified for a shoulder strap (!) and odd internal compartments.
I also added some emergency medical items when I was teaching basic pistol.

I also like those small tactical cases from Midway, have about a half a dozen. Every time that I log on to Midway they are out of stock.

Y'all have some nice pistol cases. I'll admit that when I head to the range with a pistol, I typically just take it out of the case/box, wrap it in a dirty rag, and drop it in the range bag. And I don't put it back in its case until it's clean.

My long gun cases are fairly standard and unremarkable...nothing to write home about.

Yep, five 1911's in a big case with full mags plus another 15 loaded mags gets some heft going on. But man it's nice.

I had to test 3 triggers today and a barrel fit, plus I had my carry on my hip. So I did get to shoot all 6 LOL. What a fun time, burned through 200rds like it was nothing.

I have an old school Plano briefcase style hard case that holds one or two depending on the handgun style. I also have a MTM box with foam cutouts for 3 1911 style pistols and mags. I added a Pelican case for one pistol. Depending on where I am going and what I plan on shooting I use one or more. For a week of shooting out of town I will use all 3. My range bag is a soft side to hold all the essentials, eyes, ears, squib rod and rags etc.

Lots of great cases fellas. I never use the original box or case. I have a stack of them in a closet.

The Plano was $5.00 at a yard sale. The MTM was $30.00 at Midsouth Shooter Supply and the Pelican was a gift.

Howdy. Three pics below.
I recently acquired the Pelican case in Pic 1. I wanted wheels since I currently average 275-300 rounds per range session (case is always heavier going in than coming out!)
Pic 2 is my interior from 'MyCaseBuilder' (not a great pic, sorry) - it holds 5 handguns and 18 magazines. I chose this interior because I wanted the higher number of magazine slots this model offers. The interior of the Pelican case fits the MyCaseBuilder perfectly in width. In length (to the right in the pic), I have an open space for glasses, suppressor, other accessories.
Pic 3 is my homemade 'CaseClub' that I use for my .45 ACP: one pistol, 7 x 8-round mags and (currently) 3 x 10-round mags
