Those Pelican cases are designed to work with the foam as they come from the factory, and you don't need to custom cut it, correct?

 

You folks have some nice cases. I'm way on the other end. My cases are MTM yard sale specials. My range bags are a couple of repurposed zippered canvas tool bags. I usually take just two pistols to the range.

 

I have $35,00 in all 3 of mine and they cover everything I can imagine. Yard sales are sometimes a great deal. Especially if it is a disgruntled spouse. My Gunguard case had never been used and still had the factory paperwork inside.

I never store in a case, it's only for trips to the range.
A padlocked MTM 806 fits inside my Boyd's canvas range bag which has room for ears, ammo, mags and speed loaders
and should satisfy my State's requirements.

 

Now I need another one for the other 4.

That is my one issue with these types of cases. They're great cases for sure. But the protection they offer is likely overkill in about 99.9% of instances. About the only time I would ever need that level of protection is if I was flying. But you could take that same case and probably fit 10 pistols in Bore Stores (or similar) inside, and still have room to surround it all in an inch of closed cell foam. And the guns would still be VERY well protected. Heck I'd probably still be comfortable flying with that setup. It is a nice case though.

 

I’m going fishing in Alaska this summer and looking for a TSA-approved case to take a handgun.
I really like the Pelican Vault but that thing would take up half my suitcase.

 

Wow nice stuff, I just get cheap gun rugs for transport.
i will say if you want hard cases get some harbor freight boxes.

 

I agree, the Harbor Freight cases work just fine. Granted they're not Pelicans but for the price you can't beat them. Especially when they're on sale.

 

Got a Case Club off Amazon 3 weeks ago. I really like it so far. It is heavy when loaded. I always take at least 4 with me , but I don't have to walk far to the bench.

 

I got one of their cases for Christmas. Since this picture was taken the Micro 9 was removed and a new 1911 has taken it's place.

 

I repurpose cases that don't look like gun cases, never use tool cases.my target 1911 resides in a 1950s beat up old doll case nothing for anyone to pay attention to yes, I am cheap.

 

I have two Pelican 1500 cases with hard cell foam from World Case Co., one for some of my 1911 pistols and one for my 41 Mag revolvers. They work for me.
