I recently bought a Sig P365XL, and I put a Holosun 507K X2 red dot on it. I have been looking at different optic cut holsters online that would work with it. I carry daily but this is my first pistol with an optic. I thought I would ask opinions of anyone here who might have experience with carrying a gun with a optic.
I don't plan on changing my normal carry of either a 1911 or a Glock 23 in a Milt Sparks SS2 but I would like to have the option of carrying the P365. I must admit I do love that Holosun red dot and if I can find the right holster it may become a regular carry gun.
While I was looking at the P365s I found out that some have an optic plate that removes the rear sight, but I bought one that has the plate removed from the top of the slide and leaves the rear sight on. I don't know if this makes any difference possibly causing the optic to sit just a bit more forward on the slide or not. Would that cause the holster to need a deeper optic cut. I ask this because I tried it in a Blade Tech Nano and it will fit but the Holosun pushes against the front edge of the holster which pushes the slide slightly out of battery when fully seated in the Nano.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
