If it doesnt have sharp checkering on the front and rear straps, it gets the tape. For sure with my 1911s.

My Gen 4/5 Glocks seem OK, I did the talon grip thing but it annoys me with the grooves and the 19x doesnt seem to need it yet.

Still debating on the P226. Its smoother than I'd like but the tape didnt feel right on my P229 so I dunno. Was gonna try it my next trip with the tape, see how it feels.

Glocks have it easy from the factory, good shape for control and a way better angle. Not enough grip? Well get the tape and or soldering iron, or in my case say screw it and buy a ZEV.

1911s........well you saw what I did to my Brown, they just don't do as well factory.

My VBob is real good. Most folk who shoot it complain the front strap checkering is too sharp. Perfect for me
