Curious as if anyone else carries 6 rounds in a speed strip if carrying a 5 shot. Just in case one round is dropped or one last emergency round saved or.

- chances are pretty good you won’t practice with it.

Chances are pretty good you practice with that one. Good for you. That's a great picture. I like a gun with some wear on it. Shows the dang thing actually got used as intended, and not confined to the back of a safe all its life. That's gun abuse, in my opinion. Nicely done.

I've been carrying a 642 .38 (5 shot) for many years. I do carry 6 shot loaders ... one in my pocket and one in the console of my truck. Some one asked me once why I carrying a 6 shot loader for a 5 shot revolver .... I told them it was because I couldn't find an 8 shot loader.

I do have some traditional 5 shot, round speed loaders but that's like carrying a big rock in your pocket. And it's not always about what you can carry but about what you will carry.

reloading a revolver is time consuming. your going to fumble under pressure, at least to some degree. unless your jerry. what ever you can do to make the process easier, practice. the hard core 'you need at least 50 rounds' are never going to be happy with the limitations of a revolvers. those of us that have a different mind set, and are used to revolvers will be fine. i like the strips for carry, but the 'rocks in your pocket' are faster for me. none are as fast as a clip, and belt fed is the true answer if you can't call in arty or air support.

I use 6 or 8 round strips. The same strip works for all my revolvers. The 8 round carries just as easy most of the time depending What pocket I’m placing it in. It works particularly well with the neo mag RASC clip.
