Wow.. those are beautiful! Did you get them in that color or did you have work done on it?

It took a little longer then expected, but I was able to bring the twins home this afternoon.

Sequentially numbered O1070CQBZ M45A1s...

They are awesome, and I couldn't be more pleased with them.

I only have the cerakote USMC roll-marked version. But how does ion-bond feels like?
Is it smooth like blueing or textured like parkerized?

I've read on CGN forum from a guy who had an ionbond M45 and had it cerakoted burnt bronze as he finds ionbond finish is quite difficult to clean. Eventually he has listed it up for sale though.

IonBond is quite smooth and is fully dependent upon the polish of the surface ahead of time. There are pics of highly polished IonBond guns and it is mirror smooth. The M45A1 is probably spec'd to have little luster to the polish.

Is the Ion Bond permanent to the point that it can not be redone in a different color of Cerakote? Or is it bonded deeper into the metal?

The new m45s include two Wilson 7rd mags. Some runs had both stainless, others (like mine) included one stainless and one black coated mag. I use those and Wilson ETM 8rd mags. All function just fine.

No issues with the 8rd mags? I would like to order some but wanted some input before doing that.
