The common knife of bad guys

I've been watching dash-cam/badge-cam/security footage/Ring Camera/and cellphone videos of use of force incidents for years.

And of course when the perp has a knife it's not always clear what type it is.

BUT when you CAN see what kind of knife it is, the VAST majority are KITCHEN knives. Even when the incident is on the street, or other non-domestic location.

Creeps actually CARRY these things!

And if you get a REALLY good view of the knife it's not quality cookware, it's almost always a Farberware brand knife.

If NOT a Farberware it's another cheapo. This trend dovetails nicely with the other thread about the guns of criminals: CHEAP JUNK.

And I think it's because if a crook got his hands on a Buck or other decent knife he would instantly sell or swap it for drugs.

Then carry a Farber from his momma's kitchen drawer.

These really bad guys carried evil "switchblade" knives which actually resulted in getting automatic knives banned under federal law.
Interstate transport is banned. No state ban in FL, that was done away with... back in the 90's from memory.
Then again, the UK, Australia, probably other places have banned kitchen knives, even in one's own "back garden" as they call it. Had a man in the news arrested in the UK with a machete!!!! Chopping plants in his own yard. They will stoop to new lows it seems.

Any knife, no matter how cheap can still cut flesh easily. It doesn't need to be a Rambo-style fighting knife or a Benchmade folder. That cheap dollar-store kitchen knife will do just fine when all you need to do with it is put it up against the cashier's jugular.

Knives can be bad news. I had a good friend of my Brother-in-law that was sitting at a bar minding his own business when two guys started a fight behind him. He stood up, raised his hand and said let me get out of the way when one of them stuck a serrated steak knife in his belly. What was worse was when the stabbers girlfriend ran up and ripped the knife out, stuck it in her purse and ran out. From whet I understand pulling it out did more damage. At least he lived.

I watch a lot of the ID channel where at least one murder occurs on every episode. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen cases where a perp repeatedly stabbed his victim, and at some point either the blade snapped or the handle broke off. These aren't typical killers, they're raging like maniacs.

If a looney dude with a CHEAP knife attacks you before you can draw, and the fight goes to the ground, you DO have an option: During the struggle to control his knife --if you can get a hand on his wrist, and the blade, you may be able to break it at the hilt.

These knives are narrow-tang crap. I've broken a few when digging / hacking in the yard. Any decent side load will snap them off at the handle.

Now if it's Case Brand Bowie ------ well, ya ain't gonna break that! But cheapo kitchen knives: POINK!

I'm guessing that they carry either with NO sheath & get poked a lot, or they make one from tape & cardboard. Man, it's really something! Some creep will magically produce a big cheap knife from out of nowhere, then charge the cops like an enraged Viking warrior.

Only to turn into a toddler crybaby the instant he gets shot.

Btw, in these videos, when the police shoot people they seem utterly surprised. Even after warnings that they will be shot. They often also wail in protest: " I didn't do anything" after charging police, from their stolen car that's loaded with drugs & loot.

----------Sheesh!

Repurposed hacksaw blades make for a pretty good knife. In the third world you are likely to see pretty much anything used for the purposes of a knife.

My favorite kitchen knife was made (decades ago) in Silver Dollar City, MO, from an old Chevy leaf spring.

The kind of guy who might stab or rob someone will not surrender his knives. So what you have is thousands of good people, who have turned-in knives, who now cannot
carve a turkey. This is not of benefit to anyone.
It is of benefit to the globalist elite who want to render folks helpless and neuter the people's ability to resist complete and total control over every aspect of life.

Global disarmament of civilian populations isn't about increasing the safety of the populace, it's about removing the people's ability to resist increasingly draconian governments, and "the bad guys" who retain their weapons in contradiction to law, are defacto agents of those governments.

When it was statistically proven to Senator Howard Metzenbaum that gun laws don't reduce crime....

"I don't care about crime, I just want to get the guns."
-- Senator Howard Metzenbaum, 1994

Disarming the populace of any and all means of self defense, including the enactment of laws that delegitimize self defense and illegalize even the possession of sharp implements by the average citizen in the face of violent crime, unfettered 3rd world immigration, conveniently staged political violence, and well orchestrated, organized social upheaval; serves to empower government to tighten its grip of power over its citizenry.

Folks with personal access to arms and some ability to defend themselves and their families tend to hold their heads high and are more confident and assertive, something globalist governments want to dissuade.

It's not about globalist governments fearing being overthrown by common citizens armed with knives and pitchforks; it's about total disempowerment of ordinary folks by means of instilling a feeling of total powerlessness and a psychological return to peasantry.

It's about asserting incrementally increased levels of control by the instilling of, and the constant re-enforcement of, the belief that people feel that they have no options other than to do as they are told.

Truth be told, the controlling class really doesn't give a rat's tail over the ordinary folks individual personal safety, or whether or not they go around stabbing each other with knives in the street.

Years ago, Caliber Press put out a training video called, "Surviving Edged Weapon Attack." Pretty sure you can watch it on YouTube now, and it's worth it just to watch Danny Inosanto use a knife. When I taught knife/counterknife, that was something we watched in class-it opened people's eyes pretty well.

They stated, and I'm guessing they had some good info, that most stabbings in the US happened with screwdrivers; in fact, that's what Bernie Goetz was threatened with on the subway.

As a stabbing implement, a screwdriver and knife would likely be essentially identical, although a trained knife person would use the knife's edge after the stab to continue cutting.

Yup, as soon as I saw the reference to screwdrivers as weapons I thought of Bernie Goetz. I attended his trial (his defense attorney, Barry Slotnik, a former "mob lawyer," was nothing short of brilliant).

BTW, of the four urban youths shot by Goetz, the only one who didn't go on to commit more (and sometimes worse) crimes was Darrell Cabey, who was paralyzed.

Goetz was convicted of illegal gun possession but acquitted of attempted murder. His case proves the adage "It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6."

Just a little fyi. A perp using kitchen knives are capable of cutting and stabbing deeply. I've worked murder cases where people were killed with kitchen knives. One case a man was stabbed once under the sternum with a 3" paring knife into the heart. Died on the spot. A knife is a knife, and it the hands of a knife fighter a very dangerous situation.
