If you letter them and they go to the ct guard I am betting they are from the same place. Hold on to them, they are only going up in value
Very interesting. I also have three 1951 Commercials, 2 being consecutively numbered, full of cosmoline in craft boxes, and one without a box that I shoot occasionally. I wonder if mine came from the same origin as Chaosrob's.

A few years ago some of the '51 consecutive pairs were selling for 5K or so. I imagine they are worth a bit more now.
 
If you call the ct guard with the serial number they will research who it was issued to and supply you with a copy of their military records as well. I had them do mine and have them with the pistol. I can dig the email out for you and pm it if you would like

That's exactly the origin - CT guard or SP. I am fortunate to be near the actual source for the entire batch. And yes, mine aren't going anywhere.
