What's Up With Bullseye?

I have been unable to find Bullseye for a while now and have reminders to various vendors to notify me when it is in stock. I just now received an email notice from Midway that the item has been discontinued and will no longer be available. That cannot mean what I fear it means. It must mean that Midway will no longer sell it but it has not been discontinued by the manufacturer. But, I do not know.

I'm not seeing any news on the Alliant website. Where should I look?

I'm thinking that the OP's inability to find Bullseye on the shelf goes back to Alliant's inability to access nitrocellulose in the market. Since domestic production is somewhat less than current demand (given that we're sending munitions to TWO embattled allies), and they who can supply it in great quantities are in conflict with us or our embattled allies, Alliant has reduced access to the required raw materials I THOUGHT that I read that Alliant was temporarily (or until further notice?) ceasing production of all propellants for the public market.
Has anyone heard similar? Or different?

I don;t know any of these retailers, so do your homework. (nor would I pay these prices)

Paid a visit yesterday to one of my LGS, just window shopping.
Plenty of powder on the shelf. Bullseye was $46/LB canister.
Not as cheap as a few years ago but the shelves are fully stocked.

That is an abomination for asking that price! I got back into the 45 ACP reloading game and changed my powder to HP-38 when BE was always out of stock. BullsEye was always my standard 45ACP and 9mm powder.
HP-38 is around $30/lb and can be found local by me. It's supply and availability that drives up prices, as you all know. Just have to change powders to a close burn rate and do your data all over again.
Same with my 12ga buck when Accurate Nitro 100 was hard to find. Went with Hodgdon Clays that has a similar burn rate. My 12ga Lyman 525gr slug load uses Unique and when that runs out, I'll have to research a close burn rate option. Seems like Hodgdon is more available than the others. And at a reasonable price.
Just say no and move on to another powder mfg.

I received notification from Midwayusa today that both HERCO and RL22 were being discontinued and would not be carried. I use HERCO in my 38SUPER and 45ACP loads. The RL22 is my go-to for 6.5x55 Swede loads. Not an insurmountable nor totally unexpected situation but certainly inconvenient……

I have probably 1/3 of an 8-pound jug of Alliant Promo, so I'm covered for .45 ACP and some other pistol calibers. If I'd seen this coming, I would have bought an 8-pounder of Unique, also.

I would rather have Red Dot..

But no, few months back ALLIANT announced they were not selling any powder on the civilian market as they are making too much money via military contracts at this time, and diverting powder from civilian market is merely increasing their revenue to obscenely high levels.
Nothing new here. Just typical corporate America greed. Maximize profit and increase short term shareholder's wealth.
Vista outdoor (parent company) has been doing the same with primers too. I vote with my $ and buy quality foreign made primers (no, I have not had any issues with them). We have Hodgon and VV to buy powder from too.
