Any Browning HP carriers here? I just bought one on gunbroker, .40 cal. "Practical" version, and I'd like to get a shoulder holster for winter carry.

Anyone here carry one already?

I've been carrying a somewhat worn, stock FN alloy Hi Power for quite awhile now, almost every day. It came with the sights dead on, feeds everything stuffed in it so far, and has a decent, crisp trigger pull. I have a nicer, all refinished and customized Novak alloy HP, but I simply do not have to worry about wear and tear on the "shooter" grade gun, so the nice one sits in the dark of the vault. A nickel plated HP accompanies me to church, unless clothing dictates a gun in ankle rig, sometimes in the summer.

I often carry a HP... though not in a shoulder holster...

When I carry it is in a OWB holster by Ryan Grizzle... I have not found any better holsters than Ryan makes... and I have tried quite a few... I suppose his back log illustrates how good he is... expect to wait about 3-4 months to have yours made... I don't mind the wait...

As to the .40SAW version I have carried one, but for the most part I just carry the 9x19mm. There is to me at least no noticeable difference in carrying the 40SAW or the 9x19.

Here are a few pix of one of my Grizzle holsters.

Note the magazine carrier holds the magazine in a horizontal plane rather than up and down... I much prefer this set up as it makes the mag/carrier much less noticeable. Grizzle does not catalog this carrier but will make them upon request.

It is worth restating the fact that a high quality, heavy weight belt made and designed to be used as a gun makes carry easier and more comfortable.

If i could carry. I would be carrying my BHP. When i get moved to a gun friendly state, will be carrying. Looking into a IWB. In a cross draw setup.

It's easy to carry in Hawaii. Have gay sex with a ranking state official, get that on video, and then blackmail them for a permit.

I think the wife had a little gun envy and got a 40 BHP and Desantis holster as something more manageable for her to carry than a 1911.

She hasn't so much as wore it around the house and has only fired the gun a few times over the past decade or so.

She's offered to loan it to me as a carry and I may just take her up on that.

It's a mild hammer biter for me, so it's not my favorite, though it is a smooth shooter for a .40.
