The brass bead dot that came on the gun kept popping out at range sessions with full load .357 rounds. I like it.

I've tried them. I like the concept and Love the folks as they are local to me. But, I just never could shoot them worth a darn. The standard notch and post is still my favorite. In fact, if they'd just change their rear sight, I might be able to run them.

 

I have them on a couple and there’s a bit of a learning curve. I also had trouble with customer service, my front Big Dot sight on a Smith and Wesson Performance Center 1911 fell apart. The barrel part of the sight fell off leaving the bottom part still in the notch. I called the factory and the guy was very polite, he asked me to measure certain things, I complied the best I could and then “radio silence“ I even sent him an email and asked if he forgot about me, no response.

 

I went through several sets of sights on my Alaskan striving to get the fastest combat sight picture & shots on target that I could achieve & stopped searching once I put the big dot on front with a shallow V rear sight. For this particular gun's intended use it's the best combat sight I've found.

 

I put a set on a little Kahr P380. I realize that the gun is an up close and personal gun but that big dot helps make sure that I can put those little bullets where they will do the most good at anything beyond bad breath range.

 

I just noted in another thread, I have the Ameriglow fronts and Wilson/Vickers Black Tactical U notch rears on 2 Grey Ghost Precision slides and I really like the sight picture I have. Fast to get on target and accurate to boot. I had the XS Big Dot sight on a Marlin 45-70 and it was very fast to bring to bear on target and accurate as well.

I like them and will eventually swap over to them as my factory sights go dim.

 

Like trooper894 I put a set on my Kahr P380. I had a hard time hitting anything with them. Five years ago I finally started reloading for the .380 and started shooting my Kahr seriously again. Once I figured the sights out my groups shrank and my love for the gun, the reloads and especially the sights really grew. I put them on a Kimber Commander and find them very fast and easy to see. Great for older eyes.

 

I put one on my 870. It seems to really work well on a shotgun. Haven't tried it on any handguns.

I've got them on several of my carry guns. Your not going to win any bullseye shoots with them, but they are FAST on target!

 

I have a set of the Big Dot on my 5" Armscor 1911 that I use as the bedroom gun. Very happy with it.

 

My old Night Guard NG396 (44 Special) came with an XS Big Dot front sight. I love it for up close, personal work!

 

Have one on my HD 12-ga pump-gun; excellent sight for quick and/or coarse (good 'nuff) sighting.

 

We put them on everything we can. They are fast and surprisingly accurate if one understands how to use them. We have pistols, revolvers, shotguns and even an smg with them mounted. We love them.

I have these sights on a couple of Springfields... TRP and Garrison. I’m very pleased with them. If it were not for the cost, I would have them on several other 1911s.

 

I put them on all my duty guns for 21 years, along with my EDC off duty firearms. Sig 226 and 229, Glock 21, 41, 36. They gave me the fastest combat shooting of any sights I tried, and I did a lot of testing. I like the Big Dot tritium front, and non tritium rear. Not everyone liked them, but most officers shot better under stress with XS Big Dot on the service pistol compared to standard sights.

 

I hate them. I put a set on a 1911 about 15 years ago and went through a LEO instructor course with them. I was also shooting IDPA regularly at the time, so I knew what to expect from myself in terms of speed and accuracy. I didn’t measure any speed advantage at close range, and my accuracy really suffered. I promptly went back to my standard: tritium front post sight with white target ring and plain black wide notch (.130 - .140 inch) rear.

 

I’ve got XS sights on both a Springfield TRP and on a Garrison. Really like them. With my very well used eyes ( really old!) I need all the help I can get.

XS Big Dot on my S&W Shield.

 

I would put these irons on everything if I could. They are fabulous.

 

I used to use them a lot. Then they stopped making the REGULER size white outline F/S for many models. Started to make big, orange-colored front ones. Not accurate for more than 5-10 yards. Just like everything else, have a good thing then screw it up. Gave up on them completely and now for N/S, Amera-glo or Night fission sights. 100 times better.

 

"When in tight, front sight". They are great sights for use within 25' of your target.

 

I have them on my 3 Glocks and on one 1911 Commander. And thinking about adding to another Government model.
With my older eyes I cannot say enough good things about them. Once you get past the learning curve they are hard to beat.

 

We use them on all our carry guns that will wear them. They are super fast and very accurate when used correctly. We have them on some of our shotties and even on our Colt smgs. Simply love them.

 

i use xs big dots on all my glocks, a colt defender and a ruger gov.

he didnt have anything for my sig c3 unfortunately. need to check if he has something for the s&w perf center 9mm

i definitely shot big dots better than conventional sites for defense type shooting. more accurate and faster on target.

i use xs big dot offsets on a scoped AR15 too.
