When I first started reloading (and no, it was not cap and ball, I'm not that old), the local shooters supply sold what he called "copper washed". That was long before I started thinking about fps, ES, and SD. I was just interested in, would they make the tin can jump, could I put them anywhere on the paper, and did they fit my budget (which was very small back then). Jacketed bullets were a luxury I was hard pressed to afford. Now I do pay attention to those alphabet values, the budget is larger, and I just try to erase the center ring.
