What Lengths (factory) do the barrels of various Models 1911 come in?
How many Slide length Configurations are there?

How many Grip Lengths?

I''ve heard of :
Govt Models
Combat Commanders
Officers Models
Officers with Commander length Slides

and various new smaller still

(I think the barrels vary from 3 to 5 normally)

But then I have heard LONG Slides.

There have to be a finite number of combinations!

What are the available variations (factory) of

Slide Length?
Barrel Length?
Grip Length?

renaissance needs to know!

Standard 1911 is 5" barrel, flush with slide.
You can get 6" barrels and "long slides" to fit flush with those. You can also get 7" barrels. Ace Custom 45s makes a full length slide for that barrel, but I think that's only in 45 Super and designed for hunting.
I think I've seen a normal length slide with the barrel protruding a bit. There are also barrels that are extended and threaded for various accessories, like fake suppressors, flash hiders, muzzle compensators, and such.

So there's the speal on everything 5" and up. Generally extended barrels and slides are for target and hunting pistols.
