I'll give Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Stanford credit for one thing: laying the blame primarily on catch n' release thugs who end up back on the street over and over.

Glad the SWAT officers will be ok. Glad the thug was permanently removed from society at a minimal cost to the tax payer. I wish the term "gun violence" would be removed from the language and the person responsible (the criminal) would be blamed rather than the tool used.

This is all too common with a Revolving Door legal System and bleeding-heart liberals. They want to blame the guns, blame society for making this poor boy disadvantaged, and blame everything but the root cause (the system and their own bleeding hearts). We have a whole generation, if not more, that doesn't believe in anyone's rights but their own. They would rather take what someone else has than work for it. To them, carjacking, armed robbery, and theft is working. Thankfully, this kid will not be shooting anyone else.

Unless, that crappy state has a parole system that is just as dysfunctional as their court system. If that's the case, then expect him to be paroled at the parole board's earliest convenience. Or, better yet, they're currently having elections for their senator - John Fetterman, demokrat v. Mehmet OZ, Republican which is running neck and neck in PA. One of Fetterman's positions is that he wants to empty out the prisons, release scumbags just like this. Seems like if PA keeps electing crap demokrat politicians that want to give the criminals as many breaks as possible, the voters there deserve what they are getting, crime wise.

The bottom line is that these punks do not fear cops, nor do they fear the consequences. Jail time will be short and merely a chance to catch up on what their bros in jail are doing.

In a way I feel sorry for the Police Commissioner. He is frustrated with the violence and killing and the policies that have been adopted that permit them to continue. Simply put our society is in the toilet. We have turned our backs on God. You can't have a nativity scene on government property, one Nation Under God has to be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. Teen pregnancy, mothers running around in her early teens with 3 kids who's daddy is the government. You cannot have a society that respects life when it lacks morality. I'm afraid people are looking in the wrong place fore solutions

Call the Taliban. They know how to deal with criminals. That was a joke but seriously it’s messed up how much we have to treat these cretins kindly these days. Violent repeat offenders literally are back out in hours. But if you’re a white conservative that goes and peacefully protests at an abortion clinic you get raided by the fbi, held without bail for two weeks and face 11yrs in federal prison.

I used to live near Philadelphia. Worked downtown for a few years. It was never this bad. I moved down to FL in 2003 and haven't looked back. I am just amazed at what is going on up there, but at the same time, I believe it is all self-inflicted. Be careful what you wish for...

One of my two Agent Orange cancers is rare eye melanoma. I'm under the care of a top eye cancer Doctor in the country at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia

With the mess on the streets of Philly, I contacted him early this year and told him that we no longer felt safe coming to Philly. The trip involved staying overnight in a hotel, going out to eat, walking from the hotel to his office, and parking in a public garage overnight with out of state tags on my car.

I suggested we Fed Ex my periodic MRI---CT---blood work test results to him, and we conduct our visits via Zoom.

Under the circumstances, he was kind enough to accomodate me as an exception to policy. I'm sure if my situation turns south we'll have to return to the City of Brotherly Love in person.

It did not work out as well in Bristol.

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Two Bristol police officers were fatally shot and a third wounded while responding to a domestic violence call Wednesday night, Connecticut State Police said.

Glad to hear the police will recover.

That said, the entire point of the revolving door policies is to foment mayhem and ultimately establish a national police - stasi.

Civilians denied the ability to protect themselves, local police defunded and liberal policies making their efforts null and void.

Having established a monopoly on the use of violence to control thugs, and eliminated civilian control and local policing, the govt. steps in with their "answer" to the "crisis" of their own creation.

Evil walks the Earth in the form of democrats.

Read the Constitution, BOR, Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers. Pretty much lays it out in easy to understand language.

Too late. The demokrats already have their version of the Stasi. It's called the FBI, CIA, and NSA and should be renamed the FSB and GRU. They were exposed by the Trump Administration when they illegally spied on Trump campaign officials with a FISA warrant that was obtained through perjury and false documents and renewed several times with the same false evidence. The congress should be renamed the Duma. And, if the demokrats have their way, they will repeal the US Constitution, replace it with a communist manifesto, and rename the USA the Marxist States of America.

That's an easy choice. I'd pick the doctor over that worthless, defective gimp of communist scum that wants to release criminals from prison to add to the current crime wave demokrat coddled scumbags. But, if you have to even think about which would be the better choice, those are other issues.

These shootings are just a part of the reason that I have deep respect for the men and women policing our cities, counties and states now.
When talking with current officers they ask about how it was in the 80’s and 90’s when I was on the street as a municipal officer and later as a county deputy. They like to tease me and call me old school. And I am, old school I mean.
We had the same criminal elements, much of the crime was drug related, there were illegal firearms easily available and gangs were the generators and perpetrators of the majority of crimes.
But it seems like the lines of separation were clearer. While web gripped about many of the same things as today. The liberal judges with revolving door courtrooms and the DOJ being more supportive of criminal’s rights than the rights of police officers and other common issues we weren’t as bogged down in worrying about being on the nightly news in some got ya set-up by the media or some activist group or ladder climbing supervisor looking to build their career.
I appreciate those of you who are out there now, I don’t know if I could do the job today.
