.

The 2012 Hodgdon's Manual list 800X powder as producing high velocities in the 45 ACP with 230 grain bullets.

Any of y'all try 800X ?

Interesting. Apparently it seems I'm of the few that can make 800x work. Over 20,000 rds loaded and shot in ISPC competition.

I did a lot of power charge checks before loading a firing the first round. Once I was satisfied of the charge drops cartridges where loaded and chronographed. Variances were in line with other powders and I've using it ever since.

I can attest to a previous poster stating that it meters lkike tortilla chips. I have never attempeted to meter tortilla chips but I had a disatarous expereince with HS-800X.
I made the mistake many years ago purchasing a large keg for 28 ga reloads and did not listen to the owner of the shop who stated "it does not meter well". That was the understatement of the decade - first and only time I ever had bloopers in reloading. I finally burned of the vast majority of the keg and chalked it up to expereince.

Never used 800x for reloading 45 but used quite a bit for 12ga. Extremly dirty was all I can say. May not have that problem with 45. Jim
