There is a thick green tape used for powder coating. It holds up to blasting and you can bake it over 400

 

I have used black electrical tape for years.

Works for me, too.

 

I used pin stripe tape. Its thick but narrow so it fits in grooves and easy to bend around turns without too much issue.

 

I use aluminum duct tape....I don't know if its any better its something I get free so I use it.

I have used a wide variety of tapes from simple cellophane tape to thick target pasting tape. They'll all work fine, just know that you have to keep the nozzle moving and that eventually any tape will be compromised by abrasion from the media. The good thing it that if you've done a good job prepping the surface, one good, quick dusting will make the surface as matte as it will ever get.
