The Canadian plan to disarm the public is moving ahead. as is common the ignorant are in control. The plan is do ban assault weapons, loosely defined as any centerfire rifle or shotgun that can fire like a fully automatic rifle. What we would call a semi-automatic. You know the one like the Ruger 1022 in rimfire or the AR 15. Pull the trigger and it fires one time. Let it go and pull it again and it fires the second time. Not really technical but they do not get it.

One of the assault rifles they mention is the Remington 870. Some of you may have heard of it. Here is what the article says about it.

I need to get into my gun safe, I have Remington 870, 12 gauge, I was not aware it was a semi-automatic shotgun, I always just used that pump thing on it to load another round.

For those who have not been watching, the Canadians are claiming they should ban guns so that they do not end up with gun violence, like they have down in the states. We should watch this one.

Per the article - “A handgun ban is long over due….it worked in the UK…..” ……hmm….. what is long overdue is rational thought and discussion of serious issues, and then creating logical legislation that Actually addresses the problem……. But that would be hard work. And the Liberals there, just like the Liberals here, think they can hold onto power by just controlling the high population centers and to heck with the rest of the country……. Well, it may not all work out like they plan…..

Every firearms owner in America should be paying VERY close attention to what's going on in Canada with regard to handgun and - now - semiautomatic firearms bans.

You can bet'cher a** that Dems and prog-libbies here in the US are salivating over what the dictator of Canada, Trudeau, has been able to accomplish. The US Dems watch in amazement as the Canadian citizenry just rolls over and shows their underbellies at the way their government has run amok over the few rights that have had.

No not a trick question. Just pointing out if you read that article, they are trying to ban semi autos that accept a removable magazine. The level of expertise is pretty low. I know they now make some pump shot guns that take a removable magazine, but I have never seen one. It may be that the reporter was just very confused.

And I know that when I was given a pump shotgun in the Army, I was pretty well armed. I was given an 870 with a folding stock and a 10 inch barrel to carry for anti-terrorist operations when I was on Air Force Executive Protection teams, and I was pretty well armed. And when I carried a pump shotgun in police work I was pretty well armed. But the pump under my bed and the 870 Supermag in my safe, neither one, are semi auto like the guy said in the article.

They are claiming that a pump shotgun is a semi auto weapon that should be banned. The idiocy is much like those semi auto double barrels. They have one trigger for two barrels, you pull it once and the left barrel fires, you pull it again and the right barrel fires, similar to over an under shotguns that do the same thing. But to argue that a two shooter is a weapon of war, or a pump action shotgun is a semi auto device is just too much.

When they determine and IQ of a person they generally say that people with an IQ under 69 are not capable of living alone, working and managing their own affairs. If that is true, then these folks that think pump shotguns and two shooter shotguns, should not be allowed for the public to possess, those folks should not be allowed to walk the streets alone. And they certainly should not be in leadership of the Candian government. Bob Zimmer, the guy in the article has been a member of the Canadian Parliament since 2011. He is one of the "conservatives" leading their government. My point is they are like the dumb leading the dumb. It is not going to end well, and they that kind of garbage is going to be attempted here in the US more and more. Get ready, it is coming.
