My Chinese Contract Inglis arrived yesterday afternoon from Rock Island. I wanted one in good condition and Rock Island condition statement was "Fine, retaining much of the original finish with scattered light edge wear, some minor spotting/pitting on the grips straps, and light handling marks." Only issue is there is a small import mark just below the slide stop. It has the original magazine and two Chinese characters on the slide, so I know it is one that actually made its way to China. It is not one of the first important group of 4,000 which had 6 Chinese characters on the slide, in dates from Aug-Oct 1945 (4CH824). From what I understand the two characters mean Public/Official Gun or something along those lines. So it was used. It fits well into my Canadian SA LTD marked stock from 1944. I have ordered a copy of Clive Law's book, and look forward to learning more about it. It is a nice addition to my collection of early High Powers, and my first Inglis.
