It would be nice if Colt Manufacturing will make the Defender in .38 Super:)

I converted a friend's 3" STI 9mm Elektra to 9x23win...
works great, still quite shootable with the hot Winchester ammo.

I am looking for a good deal on a used 9mm Defender, for a .38 Super conversion. I also want to shorten the frame like a Wilson Sentinel, and lighten the gun as much as possible.
I built a 3.5" Officer's sized lightweight .38 Super (ramped barrel) a few years ago. Fairly mild recoil, nice shooting package... so I think slightly smaller/shorter/lighter is doable.

What I would really like would be a true 3.5" barrel LW OACP to come back chambered for either 9 mm or .38 Super (or both).

Absent that I grabbed a 9 mm Dan Wesson ECO a couple months back and am in the process of getting it broken in. (Bought that not long after buying my 9 mm Defender.) Just like the 3.5".

I also prefer a 3.5" COMPACT to a 3", but I can live with the ultra shortys if I have to.

DW ECO 3.5" converted to 9x23 Win.
Kimber Ultra 3" Aegis/CDP converted to .357 Sig.
STI Elektra 3" converted to 9x23 Win.
S&W CS40, 3.25" .40 cal., converted to 10mm.

Just waiting for the right donor/base lightweight compact to do a .38 Super.
I can shoot .38 Super through the 9x23 guns, but do get some noticeable bulging around the bottom 1/3rd of the cases.
