Don't know how you can wait till APRIL!!!

I have a personal rule, that any and all new-to-me firearms get shot within 24 hrs of taking possesion!
But, unlike most of you, my shootin area is 1/2 mile down the road from me.:biglaugh:

 

They really do make some nice handguns. I also am only 1 mile from my range , but it's only going to be 18° here tomorrow and I hate shooting in the cold weather.

 

Very nice looking pistol. I wish they made a bull barrel 5” gun.

Very,very happy for you! Just love seeing Commanders wishing I too had one! maybe one day DW will make the A2 Commander in 9mm to go with my A2 45 5 inch. Are you listening Keith? Anyway, enjoy that pistol even if waiting until April to shoot it.

I promise to do a range report, but if i wait until April to shoot it , I'm sure someone else will buy one and beat me to it. By the way, i took it completely apart and the inside is just as flawless as the outside.

 

Out of curiosity , what advantage is there having a bushingless bull barrel vs the standard barrel with bushing ? Asking to learn is all, thanks .

 

I guess I didn't buy it because it was a bushingless bull barrel, but because it was a Dan Wesson and something different . I have 10 other 1911's with bushings. Some have external extractors, but most are internal . I don't let that it's a little different stop me from buying a 1911. I really love the Dan Wesson brand and wanted to get one more Valor before they are gone. I guess I'll find out if there is an accuracy advantage, but I can't imagine that its going to be any better than the other Valor, Vbob, and Cbobs I already have. They have all been perfect since day one.

 

There really isn't any advantage, other that cosmetics perhaps. I like having a bushing on my 1911s, that said my STI Edge is a heck of a tack driver with its bull barrel.
