Hello, hope that I might be able to get some info. I have a 1911 and at the back of the slide and the frame there is a small mismatch. The slide is just a little forward on the left side and real close on the right. The gun is Pakerized now. A local Tool making shop said they would refinish the frame and slide for me using the Manganese Phosphate they use on tools. I would be able to get the frame and slide to were they will match up, with a little fileing. But will the finisk look right going over the Parkerizing and will it hold up as well. I have seen the Manganese Phosphate finish and on a smooth finished part it looks like a black bluing. A a non smooth part it sure looks like black Parkerizing. Would it be worth the trouble? There would be no cost in the Manganese Phosphate finish. The mismatch that I have, I have seen on alot of 1911's some worse then mine. Thanks For the help
