I am not interested for myself, but it seems so cheap I was wondering if it was a cheaply made POS or a bargain that may be of interest to someone on this forum looking for a cheap 1911

$541.95

I just noticed THIS ONE WITH A THREADED BARREL for $849

I was thinking of getting a suppressed 1911 but I am guessing I would be better off just buying a threaded barrel for one of the guns I already own

I agree. I have the R1 and R1 Commander. Both are extremely well made and accurate. They are easily as good as 1911s costing hundreds more.

But with aggressive R1 pricing lately and Remington's $75 mail in rebate you can get them very cheap. I caught a Memorial Day sale on the R1 for $475 and later the R1 Commander for $523 - both at a LGS. My two mail in rebates are processing now and if they come that's about $850 for both, plus 6.5% state tax. Amazing quality, US made 1911s for the price of Armscor or Tisas.

SC, if you can get one at that price I say jump on it. I bought a new R1 Commander last December for $590. After factoring in sales tax and FFL transfer fee and factoring out the $75 Remington rebate I have $567 invested in her. This is one of the finest firearm purchases I've ever made. A solid and accurate weapon right out of the box. BTW, I just checked Remington's website and the $75 rebate has been extended to July 31. FWIW.

I hate when something like this happens, I posted this as a favor/heads up to anyone that may want to buy one (if it was a good price). After reading the comments I am tempted to buy one myself.

I was also thinking about a suppressed 1911 and the one for $849 may be an option

I would jump on the Remington R1 with that price.
I bought my Remington 1911 R1 5" in march of this year.
Bought on line from CDNN SPorts Inc.for $586.00 after shipping. Also included a Model 1911 R1 Mail-in Rebate through Remington for $75.00. Final price will be $511.00. Downloaded the paperwork and mailed in the Sale receipt. I received my Rebate check in about two months.

I ended up buying Remington matte stainless a few months back.{when they had the 75 buck rebate.}so my out the door was $494.00 I can't touch anything close to the fit and finish of it at all on the market. for U.S. MADE. and 100% pleased with it.

so pleased I ordered a high polish stainless model. then later found out a special order thing. and they are sold out now. I tried three sources, no luck...anyhow if you find a nice Remington at a fair deal buy it. you don't know what will happen in future ARM-UP is my motto now.

no time for junk gun's. buy something nice. and a Remington will make you happy.
