LOL, same thing, the clerk simply doesn't know that. It would be nice to see a clerk in any department that actually knows a little about what they are selling instead of having to say " excuse me sir, let me call the dept manager for you".

 

You will never find that at a WallMart, also, I figure it won't be long until WallMart starts selling WWB ammo made in China:biglaugh:

Every time i go to walmart and ask for .45 acp they say they dont have any.

LOL............same thing happened to me a few months back. Everytime I went in and asked for .45ACP, I got the same answer...."nope". This was from three different clerks. Finally, one day I got curious about a stack of WWB 100 count boxes in the corner of the display case and saw they were marked ".45 auto". They'd been there since day one. Needless to say I bought them.....@ $32 a box I can't hardly roll my own.

 

But every time im there i see a few boxes of wwb that say .45 auto.

I'm still waiting for that to happen, just once even...

 

When I call Wally World, I usually ask if they have any "45's" to be safe. If they say yes, and it turns out they have 45 GAP or something, I just pick up some toilet paper and move out.

and even labeled so here in the US. As a common
round used for NATO it is called 9Mm NATO
the european metric designation is 9x19 the 9 being
the bore and the 19 being the length of the case.

Metric def. for the .45 ACP/Auto gets a bit clumsy
converting to metric it is: 11.455x22.8 to be more
exact than whatever they round it to in Europe

Note: one of the most rare to have in a 1911
collection is the built under contract by the Norwegians
1911 that is the 1914 - I think there's two different
types, and they referred to the cartrdige as the 11.43.
and yeah the Nazis kept the manufacturuing plant going
after they conquered Norway so there are some
with Nazi Prooof marks.

9mm luger and 9mm NATO are actually different. SAAMI has 9mm luger listed @ 35,000PSI and 9mm NATO is 36,500PSI

 

Though you would probably never run into this, I thought it might be worth pointing out that there is .45 auto rim, for those who don't like moon clips. I don't know if it is produced anymore though.

 

you can still get .45 auto rim new loaded cartridges here and there.

Maybe you shouldn't be giving your business to a store that doesn't like guns and shooters very much, and where the clerks don't know the difference in .45 auto and .45 ACP. Maybe, I'm just sayin'?

 

I prefer to buy my stuff from the cheapest store. As long as I know what I want, the clerks are just there to open a case and hand me what I point out. I don't feel like paying a couple extra bucks or more per box to ensure a store's clerks are knowledgeable, just not worth it to me.

 

When in doubt at WalMart, always ask the greeter. :biglaugh:

Well, not intentionally ripped off (hopefully). The guy told him they don't have any .45 Auto when there were several boxes of .45 ACP right there. He could have left with some ammo, regardless of the choice of words on the box.
