Who all makes a Commander sized 1911 that is also lightweight? I'm aware of the Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander. Any others?

The Dan Wesson Guardian is one of the best lightweight commanders you can get outside a custom build. Well worth the price and Dan Wesson has one of the best customer service in the business. Vice President and CEO contacting you to advise progress and check on your happiness good.

The Guardian has everything you are looking for in a commander length 1911. Mine is excellent. If you are looking to carry it, I'd also recommend the ECO by Dan Wesson, just slightly smaller slide dimensions with an officer frame. Conceals very easily and shoots like a bigger pistol.

I have an Ed Brown Kobra Carry in stainless. I liked it so much I bought the same gun in a KC Lightweight. It carries so much easier. Yes, it is pricey although you can catch one now and then on their web site under their trade in program. All the other guns suggested are fine but the satisfaction of ownership, for me, can't be beat. And I'd trade many other guns before I'd let go of my KC, except my other KC.

More seriously, if you're going for an alloy frame EB inserts a steel feed ramp into the frame so that hollow points don't chew it up. That's a pricey bit of smithing if your pistol doesn't come with that feature.
