Everybody is welcome to post pics!

I mentored under/worked for a custom pistolsmith for a while, and built most of my 38 Super USPSA Open division pistols during the two decades I competed. Now I just build my own stuff and occasionally help a friend or neighbor. So yea, I know a few things about these 1911/2011s. I don't claim to be an expert at anything though.Your work looks excellent! I have to assume you know a few things about 1911s!
I know Steve from another site as well. Seems to be a good guy, and quite knowledgeable about 1911s.I totally respect and appreciate your perspective. I love the phrase "unsolicited advice", as I've employed it on/with my brother countless times. He knows everything about everything, and if anyone does things different than him, they're idiots. I joined this site only a week or so ago. I read some posts from a guy named Steve in Allentown. He seems quite knowledgeable on the 1911. Given the site is 1911 Forum, I presume there are many others as well.
There are many members here who know more than I ever will about 1911s. I do my best to limit my posts to what I know for sure is true and stay away from gray areas to avoid passing along bad information.I read some posts from a guy named Steve in Allentown. I love looking at other's ideas for fixturing. For me, that's half the fun of machining. I've done day long set up ops for a 5 min machining op. Is that some sort of expanding collet in the dividing head?
The work begins. I see the strap has to be made ugly before it can be transformed into pretty.Learning to true a front strap prior to checkering.

A guy named Dave told me once "make it run, then make it pretty." Words to live by.The work begins. I see the strap has to be made ugly before it can be transformed into pretty.
