I entered & WON a sweepstakes to win a $1000. shopping spree, & selected this pistol + some needed ammo.
I am 76 & never won any contests before. The only handgun I'd heard of, available, was this Israeli Weapons Industries Compact Steel 9mm CZ-75 Clone. I remembered it because I'd seen reviews claiming it was even better than the original. I also had some knowledge & experience with other Israeli Products & was impressed with their ingenuity & improvements. I was not disappointed with this beautifully crafted pistol. - I was pleasantly surprised - having never seen or held one in person.
Upon opening the box, I saw that it appeared to be DRY - not oily, & with a fine finish. Closer examination revealed a flawless coated finish. I have never owned a coated handgun, & didn't think I liked the Idea. I called IWI to learn more about IT (what cleaners to avoid, etc) They said it was a Proprietary Israeli secret, & I could clean with anything I wished without worry = "Magic Finish". Everything else was just as in the good reviews. IT is heavy for a compact pistol - more so than my compact 1911 - this will encourage a 2 handed hold, & may explain why reviewers complimented its exceptional accuracy & recoil control. The DA & SA trigger pulls are amazingly nice. It does indeed feel like the "slide racks on ball bearings" as stated in reviews.
I found a pair of interesting Grips with parent company IMI logo, that I like, & am looking for just the right laser for the rail. I haven't been to the range yet, but savor it with anticipation. IT should be as good a my Turkish Stainless Sarisilmas 2000 CZ-75B clone. See Pix. So far - I highly recommend these. It was selling for less than some of the surplus ones I've seen. I absolutely would have bought it IF I had the $$.

Interested to hear if you prefer the SAR or the Jericho in a CZ75 clone head-to-head. Also do they both take the same mags (CZ75)?

Seems like a good option for those who want a 9mm but don't want a plasticky frame.

Also in your opinion, CZ75 (clone) vs Browning Hi Power?

These are points I have spent some time to consider. I love my 1911's - as did my father. I'm also very fond of my Hi-Power's, & would always suggest those who wanted a 9 mm 1911 look into high powers. It just so happens that my 1911s & Hi Powers are CLONES because I could get MORE for my money that way Including Stainless steel & brand new firearms.
Bringing us up to present - I was reminded of my Tisas stainless HP - when I saw the stainless Sarsilmas 2000. In reading up on it - its locked breech action was described as similar to Browning's Hi Power - consequently I feel the CZ-75 to be the heir of the Hi-Power (pretty sure it influenced the CZ-75 design). I have held CZ's & appreciated them - BUT I COULD EASILY AFFORD MY STAINLESS SARSIMAZ 2000. I have not been disappointed with it - It is beautifully made - no tool marks - DA/SA action smooth as butter. It has been my # 1 house gun since I got it & proved its accuracy & reliability. It IS a keeper & recommended.
Along came my sweepstakes win, & the opportunity to acquire the steel Jericho 941-FS. Reading about them had made an impression. I have great respect for Israeli weapon engineering. Before I won, I had no extra toy money, & wouldn't have been able to buy anything (inflation). Now that I own it - I'm absolutely keeping it . I'm reasonably sure (from reviews) it will shoot as well as the SAR. IT IS DIFFERENT IN WAYS - Shorter, slightly heavier, stiffer hammer spring. Even though new the DA trigger pull is lighter, & SA trigger is free until reaching a definite break point - & really nice. I am sure the extra weight well keep it on target, & the square knurled Trigger Guard will ease 2 handed hold. The sleek sights are Novak style with very visible big white dots. It is the only handgun I own with an accessory rail. I'm hunting a tiny green battery Laser.
I would have a very hard time choosing - IF I had to get rid of one, I think I can find a use for both. The Sar stays at home. The Jerhico is a convenient size to go for rides.
However: I have a CCL & prefer to carry my light thin 9x18 Russian MAKAROV or Polish P-64 in summer clothes. I became a DA/SA fan from the safety aspects of carrying the MAKs chambered with a DA/SA trigger.
At 76 & have noticed my handguns getting heavier - IMO an SBR'd STRIBOG with laser sight is a superb choice for a "senior citizen" house gun (similar to the B&T sub-gun army units clear structures with) My contest benefactor GLOBAL ORDINANCE has "Gen 2 Stribogs" on sale right now. They are VERY good.
Hope you find my observations useful. Best Wishes, C.

Thank you for your insights! Next pistol to consider. It's always interesting to look at steel frames 9mm's since they're relatively few in number. And understood what you're saying about our beloved 1911s technically being "clones" anyway. A 9mm MAK has already been on the list actually, exactly for what you've described. That or a PPK.

I found a miniature "EZ - SHOOT" brand Green Laser on Amazon for $30. It is small enough to go on the very front of chin rail, & still leave finger room on the squared trigger guard - only 1.1" long. It came with an auxiliary rail on its bottom for a light - which I removed. Its push button switch is handy on its rear.
Totally recommend this laser - It is as strong as ones costing a few hundred dollars, & is supposed to carry 5 hundred yards at night - & last 16 hours on the battery.
Only negative aspect is: The green spot goes all over when I use DA trigger - my fault - being elderly, But everything is as it should be - firing SA. So cocked & locked until needed - is how I'll proceed. glad I was made aware of my limitation - A person needs to know. DELIGHTED WITH THE LITTLE "EZ - SHOOT" LASER..
