How long did it take to get the frame? I have a Ti Officer frame on order through my 'smith to build a CCO and am curious as to when he may be able to start.

 

Caspian is now offering the Ed Brown Bobtail Cut as an option.

My gunsmith had it in stock. I also am waiting for an officer.

The total build cost was $1800.00. I'm getting ready to sell it because my other one on order should be done soon.

I have a Caspian Ti Commander frame and stainless slide that have been sitting in a box on my shelf for 5 years. I just don't have the cash to send it off to SA Custom Shop, like I did with my Govt. model. One day I'll send it to them, until then, it exists only in my imagination. I also have the Ti beavertail, mainspring housing, etc. to go with it. The slide has the ball radius cuts, looks very sharp.

 

What slide stop is that? I'd cut down the pin myself, especially for carry.

I did a pin chop and frame countersink on a carry gun , it turned removing the slide stop into a tool required operation ... big mistake

I have to ask a stupid question... you've used a lot of high quality components. What advantages does it offer over a sw1911sc?

 

The advantage is you get the gun EXACTLY the way you want it , saves you money in the end instead of buying something as a base then spending another 2k redoing it .

The high quality components are just a way to spend money , they don't add any extra value when it comes to resale ... unless your prospective buyers are the kind that salivate when they hear certain words and those buyers are few and far between has been my experience ...

 

What 'smith did the work? I have had trouble finding one that will work on titanium.

Otto Comp in St. Louis will work with Ti frames. He just built a govt with Caspian Ti frame for my son as a graduation present from USNA, and is finishing my Ti CCO now.
