The K Model was long overdue. Steep price, but hey it's H&K. :geek:

Any improvement on H&K’s trigger is a good thing. One of my buddies is a real H&K fan-boy I will send him this thread I am sure he will buy one or more knowing him. I have shot the original VP9 and others of his H&K collection and the VP9 was a vast improvement for them and a striker gun trigger-wise. I own a P30SK and it is a good little gun—lousy trigger but I don’t carry it.

There's nothing the HK can do that a Glock can't for nearly half the price, and as you all know I'm not even a Glock fan!

Reeves is funny IMO, and he has scored some huge interviews, e.g., Beretta, CZ, etc. But, to be honest I trust Hop's instincts more and his humor is more sarcastic/witty.
Agreed. Hop is way funnier, and without the JR frat boy vibe. ;)
I'm so fed up with guniverse, I don't even know who Hop is. Whatever gun stuff I listen to, I do it on 1.5 or higher speed.

The word is that HK is discontinuing legacy VP9 and VP9sk, and these new guns are it. Reeves vid says nothing about new models/old models parts interchangability. HK discontinues factory support 10 years after killing off a handgun. Current VP9 owners may need to research the subject.

I've owned exactly one HK firearm in my life... a USP .40 Compact that I had for maybe a year. It was a decent gun aside from the impossibly heavy double-action trigger. Since then I've never seen another new HK product that I liked enough to want to buy, especially for what they usually sell for. Whenever I see someone say "With a Colt you're just paying for the name" I keep wanting to reply with "HK says "hold my beer"".

PDP has an incredible ability to flip its muzzle up. Any higher and it would look like a rapidly cycling boner. The amazing thing is that it doesn't matter what the gun weight and size are. I had two at the exact opposite sides of size/weight spectrum and they both did that.

How much is the VP9A1? Can’t be much over $700, right? The original VP9 was about $600, I think I bought it for that price, back in 2014 or 2015.
The MSRP on current VP9s is 800+ but they could be had at 600 or so I think.

I have I think 5 or so HK's, and like them a lot. They just work. I especially like the mag release, just pinch the little under trigger paddles, and out drops the mag. No need to twist my thumb around to drop the US style mag release on other pistols. I do think there is a bit of a "cult" thing with HK's, perhaps some of the "German" heritage, or some of the MP5 rubs off on their handguns. I am sure Glocks work well too, but I have no interest in Gaston's gun. I like my SIG's too. But I don't need any more handguns, even another HK.

LIke I said, HK's work. NV

I bought a Walther PPQ M2 (US-style mag release) and had issues bumping that huge button all the time, so I ended up buying the M1 model (paddle release) and sold the M2. I agree the European paddle release has some distinct advantages over the US-style button.

Eventually I had to sell the PPQ M1 as well because the trigger rest was so short that I was inadvertently firing double-taps during recoil. Otherwise I really liked that gun, high bore axis notwithstanding.

Right now, I’ll stick with my VP9 or until I can hold and shoot the new one. It’s a range and HD pistol. ‘ Never say never’ as the saying goes.
I too like the paddle mag release and how well the gun fits my hand. Mag capacity is a non starter until one of these courts take the leash off our necks, so why would I want another double stack 10 round pistol for what sounds like 1k.
Right now, as an EDC, nothing beats my 365xl which is optic ready and mag capacity can expand to 12,15,17.
Glocks and the rest aren’t my cup of tea.

Walther, you get the same thing and save a little. After all they are all plastic guns, not much product differentiating going on - especially in 9mm.

I like HK, still have a couple of the hammer fired models. Can't think of 1 time in many years that I have had a single problem with one. Traded off the VP9 that I had but might consider another one. Kind of like Glocks, you either like them or you don't. HK yes, Glock no. To each his own.

have one of the early VP9's, eventually got a "long slide" for it, and now that I need a DOT to be accurate, I the original slide machined for a SIG Romeo Pro, which is the only DOT that I don't get a big flare because of my astigmatism. A superb pistol,, great trigger, not heavy, which is important now for me holding it out "strong hand", and of course, it shoots whatever factory or reload i cram into the mags. Much cheaper than buying a new slide machined from HK.

All good here.. NV

I have exactly one HK and it's the VP9, so I don't have a huge pool of them to draw from for a trigger comparison. I will say that mine ranks just behind my PPQ for a stock trigger, but is way better than a stock Glock, or a Glock with a 3.5 pound connector. I do have a good number of poly guns of differing makes and it ranks number 2.

There's nothing the HK can do that a Glock can't for nearly half the price, and as you all know I'm not even a Glock fan!
Glock doesn't really try though. I carry one every day and would be the first to admit that it's the same basic gun it always was and Glock keeps getting us idiots to keep buying it. I would love a more ergonomic frame out of them.

They will have to be priced in line with the Glock MOS pistols to stay competitively priced. There is a VP9 OR pistol already. It will probably replace that, and be priced at that gun's price point.

For those interested, the HK website has been updated with these so they should be hitting stores any day now.

Eww, yuck, a striker fired gun.
I love HK handguns (I have 7), but I dislike striker fired guns. If it does not have a hammer on it, I do not want it.
I would much rather they have showed the P30 some love with new models and a threaded barrel from the factory. (yes you can buy a threaded barrel, but you can not get one from the factory).
My EDC is a P30SK and I absolutely love it. Fits my hand like a glove, shoots wonderfully, and is very accurate for its size.

Has there ever been a good looking polymer gun?
They are all boxy and ugly.

Kygunco got me for one of their factory blem HK P30s that had a few days back. It's a 17 round 9mm that has a barrel less than 4", but some of the leather cookie cutter holsters that fit it from the likes of Galco also fit a 4" XD .45. It seems that not only are the ugly, but they are oversized for a 9mm.
