Don't have the ZEV, but I do have a P226 Legion. The base platform (P226) is a very accurate and dependable firearm. If the additional bells and whistles look attractive to you, I don't see how you could go wrong.

Then if the ZEV is within your budget, it will make a nice addition. I first got the P226 itch when I purchased a SIG Mosquito for my stepdaughter for Christmas. Loved the location of the controls, loved the grip angle, and when I found out it was basically a reduced (10%) version of the P226, I knew what the future held. I have not regretted it for a moment.

Im a HUGE fan of buying firearms that you have instant equity in
you "made" $750 on this purchase.

I missed out on an AK that was for sale for 2K. They are going for 3K on the secondary market. Im still kicking myself on that one
Contacted him on a Sunday but didnt have cash until Monday (bank). I offered Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal, but he wasnt interested in anything but cash. He sold it later that day

If it's anywhere near as good as the Legion, you'll love the pistol. The P-226 SAO is one of the most fun shooting pistols I've ever experienced.

ZEV Technology, now doing for SIG what it previously did for Glock... making the pistols even uglier...;) I guess it's sorta cool, in a John Wick-ian kinda way...

But $1150 is a very good deal, at least where I'm at.

I do like the grip panels, but other than the slide (funky serrations, porting, fiber optic front sight, rear optics cut) and threaded barrel, did ZEV do anything else with the platform?

Interesting that ZEV is up here in Washington, but can no longer sell its wares to us with anything other than 10-round magazines.

I still love my Legions...

Re the 226. So I just took a class with a former member of SEAL Team 6. He told me that in his first five years, he went through 6 P226s. When each one would hit 100K rounds, they made him turn them in for a new one. Yes he shot 100K rds through six different P226s over a five year period. Needless to say, this guy can shoot a little.

I'm gonna say there's just a tad bit of exaggeration that this guy engaged in. 273 pistol rounds a day per year? Nope. Yes, DEVGRU guys shoot a butt-ton, but mostly through their carbines or other long guns. Also, DEVGRU transitioned from the 226 to the Glock 19 a couple years ago.

Of course, any SIG P-2226 would easily hold up to this volume of shooting. (Of course, the P-226 happens to be Old Dog's all-time favorite DA/SA semi-auto duty pistol)

There are people who might call that eccentric......I mean, ....you have one with a light..............and one with a dot sight............what gives? ...........the one with the light is supposed to be the one with the dot sight......right?

very nice collection sir, need a Buffalo hide or sumpthin to display them on so the rest of us can drool.......In was thinkin about showing that picture to my wife and explain why other guys had more than one of the same, but decided she really did not need to see any she did not already know about....some things better not said.......
