I'm new to this forum and have what I hope is a simple question. I've seen several threads about replacing the magazine catch spring with a lighter spring to make it easier to compress the catch when reloading, and I think I would like to give it a try.

My question is, do I have to disassemble the frame before unscrewing the catch lock and removing the spring, or can I replace the spring without doing any other disassembly?

I hope the question makes sense and I look forward to the responses.
