I'm looking at this pistol.
It would be my first sig in 9mm.
Have a sig in .380 bought it for my wife. I shoot it and it's a nice shooter. For a .380 seven round .
Six inch steel targets first five shoots at about 15 feet kicked them over on the number six hit steel .
But it didn't fall but with last round it fell.
I am not a great shot but this makes me think about a bigger sig 9mm.
Think it would be a good cc gun.
Would like you talk me into or out of it!

I thought my next pistol was to be old style revolver in 357.
But already have Smith and Wesson model 36 in 38 special and Korth Ranger .357.

Your thoughts on the sig will be welcomed.
Good bad and ugly!
Thanks David

Make up ypour own mind as there at least 10 great brands with many more models to carry and depending on the forum the brand and model will change . I sold my sig p320 old and new after the low class chambers support that turned up in a the early x5 models and then other XC I had My old p320c 40 was a good pistol but not the new one . Ilm also sure not willing to pay a higher price for a aluminum frame striker pistol But sig is good at adding window dressing to a line of pistols .

I would tell you what I carry now and the most over 24 years but not like it matters to any one but me .

I have the AXG Pro and it's a nice feeling handgun, beats the pants of the plastic models, but also like twice the price. And the over did the slide cuts. I also got the Legion and put the slide/barrel on the AXG, all-around nice if you can get use to that trigger, the are good triggers just really weird. Would I carry one, no, not without a manual safety.

I have an older P229 in 40S&W that is a great pistol, one of the best pistols I've ever owned. That is the only experience I have with sig, so I really have no idea how good the newer ones are. I would buy another sig in a heartbeat because of my experience with that P229 but I really don't care for plastic guns and cost is a consideration of course. A CZ 75 compact has my attention right now, haven't purchase yet but man it looks good.

I was never a p320 fan to begin with. When they first came out, they were just another “meh” gun, nothing special about them to me. But the axg line to me was really a big leap forward because I’ve always preferred metal guns over plastic. Fast forward today and now I have 2 axg pistols, a classic and a scorpion and they’re 2 of my favorite pistols and most certainly my favorite striker fired pistols.

If I won a sig p320axg today I would rather take the dollar value of it rather than take the handgun home . If you buy a sig p320 learn how to tell if you have a well supported chamber or a dangerous chamber . Sigs has a sorted history of chamber issues since the X5 series came along so take a sized empty case to check chamber support and plunk test for at least . Adding a metal frame to a p320 does nothing for me even if on my preferred striker fire pistol . IF I want a heavier range gun theres all ready better choices out there .

What you like to see for ideal chamber support - Like on our m&p's both 9mm and 40sw

What sig has said was in spec , X5 on right , g17 middle and cz on right

I shot a P320 a few times last month, a club gun. It was okay. I preferred it to the Glock.

Regardless of caliber, I want all my carry guns to operate similarly, so I stick to single actions with external manual safeties. I also strongly prefer metal frames, but to each their own.

I bought the AXG Classic with the wood grips at the end of last year and really like it. Shoots really well and feels great in my big paw.
It's my first striker fired pistol so I still need some range time with it before I consider putting it in my carry rotation. Trigger is soo much better on this gun than any Glock I have ever shot.

There seems to be just one more mistake on sigs site or maybe just some corn-fusion of the grip module on the p320axg being stainless steel or is it really an aluminum alloy as some sites state it is also used on so many siggly da sa pistols . I found a few treads that its alloy aluminum so slap a magnet on the frame as even stainless stell in firearms has some amount of carbon steel in it . Not like it really matters but it would be heavier yet ! ha Man thats a tall pistiol for CC duty .

To bad sigs eliminated so many models as the P classic did offer SAO models that would be a far better choice .

I have an old retired LE buddy that had the option to buy there carry pistols at department cost waaaay back days . He carrys a p220sao in 45 for 20 plus years . The department sent it to sig to be brought up to new specs with a better trigger as part of his retirement . Funny parts is today he carrys a nicely tuned lw commander in 45 as her CCW .

Also remember Polymer frame pistol can shoot 1" at 25 yards 5 shot groups like with many apex barreled m&p's and a number of polymer frame pistol have well in excess of 100,000 rounds fire One glock 17 went 300,000 rounds + on that stock poly frame . And I'm not a glock fan !!

I better stop hanging out on this page .
