Could a platypus owner please measure the twist rate on their barrel? I called customer service and they did not know. 1:10 would be ideal for terminal performance with duty ammo. Can someone take a look?

I appreciate it. To be fair, I called Monday (holiday), and she said the engineer wasn't at work. They were aware of my question and said they'd get back to me. I'm likely being impatient because I want to get my order in. Wait time went from 12-14 weeks to 14-16 weeks in the past 3 days.

Schumann was the one I know had various twist rates. They were, I believe by special request and not sold as standard. I'm not saying they don't offer other twist rates, but I don't understand why they would not specify it if they are varying.

What was their logic (Colt, et al) for using the slower twists?

Glock uses 1 in 250mm (1 in 9.84"). The original Colt Python used a 1 in 14" ROT and back in the day S&W used 1 in 18.75”. Many said that is why the Python shot heavier bullets better in theory. Personally, I think ROT is very important and moreso in rifles. Of course, debates rage online to this day whether the Greenhill formula is correct. For old blackpowder cartridges I swear by it. Remember however that bullet length is the factor and not weight so much.
