Newbie question here: Can you recommend any vids that will help me completely disassemble and reassemble the frame parts of my 1911 (i.e. grip safety, frame safety, MSH, trigger, etc.). I'd like to replace my trigger and perhaps polish it and the grip safety, but I'm a little leery. Any step-by-step guides you can suggest? Some of the ones I've seen on Youtube just fly through the disassembly process, or else have poor camera angles... so I can't quite catch it all.

Wilson Combat's videos cover complete assembly/disassembly. They're top of the line for instruction on the topic. A caveat for you; if you're not intimately familiar with the 1911 whereby disassembly can be accomplished with ease--it might not yet be time to go replacing or polishing parts. Especially ignition parts. Consider shooting the gun for a few months and take the time to familiarize yourself with all parts and groups.

Get real familiar with how everything works before you go replacing and polishing parts!

The Wilson Combat video is great.

The only part that is lacking is the orientation of the sear and disconnector, so stop and take a cell phone pic of how they are oriented in the frame before you pull the pin.

Tweezers are very helpful for putting them back in the frame correctly.

Everyone has their own methods for assembling things. For the sear/disconnector assembly, I simply join the two loosely. I wack off the end of a toothpick. I stick the toothpick through the pin holes of the two leaving the wacked end flush with the side surface of the sear. I then wack the toothpick on the opposite side of the sear, leaving it flush too. I insert the two into the pistol, jiggle them around a little if necessary so that I can align their holes with the frame sear pin hole. As you insert the pin, it pushes the small toothpick out the other side and it's done.

Along with the videos, here's a few of helpful pics.
