Alan Harton in Houston does great single action work. Made me up a beautiful 10mm Vaquero with adjustable sights.

I use Craig Maraviov in Woodland, CA. He's done a ton of revolver work for me over the years and built the stainless Smolt and Couger in this pic. His work is excellent and turn around time is fast.

I don't believe you I will need to see pics. Sounds like a very cool project, please share pics with us
The project started out as a bright stainless Vaquero in .40 S&W that was a special run of commemorative pistols for the 150th Anniversary of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. I picked up a blemished, non-issue copy for $250 and sent it off to Alan Harton in Houston. He reamed it to 10mm, added S&W J Frame sights, and bead blasted the mirror polish to a nicer finish. His work is top notch and exceedingly reasonable in cost.

that's a beautiful revolver do you have a before pic?
It looked very similar to this, but in .40 S&W, and had an inscription that was messed up. The bead blasting served two purposes; reduce the shininess and get rid of the blemished inscription.

Any of those guys known for their work on old Colt revolvers?
I would have recommended Fink's Custom Gunsmithing in Chino Valley, AZ, but I have been waiting a year for my Colt 1917. I understand he is now at Gunsite, so immediate repairs for Gunsite patrons and staff may now be his priority. Each time I call him, it is almost ready. Two weeks ago, it was ready to be blued, reassembled and test-fired "that week." I also understand he is probably busy, so I am torn between calling again and not calling for another couple weeks.....

I took a Uberti Model P to Alan Harton Single Action Services in Houston and am convinced there is no one better on the planet for any work on SA revolvers than Mr Harton. Truly amazing work, he does everything from tune ups and full custom builds to restorations. He showed me examples of guns that had basically been destroyed due to an overcharged load and made them look like new. If it can be done he’s the guy that can do it

Ben there done that, don't bother you're just going to get your blood pressure up. Good gunsmiths do not necessarily mean good business people or just good people for that matter. I would give it at least a month maybe 6 weeks. Every time you call your gun might go to the bottom of the pile. A harsh reality. I have had several custom guns built both revolver and semi auto's. Without exception the ones I never contacted the smith about the status of the project were the quickest to arrive. Just something to consider.
