The only company I know of who offers a re-lamp service is Trijicon and they only will work on their sights.

 

My XS Big Dot set say Trijicon right on 'em. But the other replies are spot on. It would not be very cost effective to rework the sights. They were only about $100 new. IIRC, the expected life is only 5-10 years. Mine are over 10yrs old and have gotten very dull.

 

Wilson will replace the sights with new ones, but I think trooper894 is right that only Trijicon will "re-lamp" their own sights. The reason most companies only replace the sights is because tritium (like Radium) is radioactive and comes with federal regulations (stringent) for reactivation or disposal.

 

thanks guys : i belive that they are Trijicon. i have contacted both Wilson (with the serial #) to see what sights they are; and Trijicon. they are both closed for the holiday. guess that i will be contacted next week.

There was a guy in eastern europe that sold vials in all colors, and sizes a decade ago, that I dealt with, to put one in the center of a Ruger MkIII's front sight blade.
Did a quick search, and didn't find him but did find this: Tritium source.
I will look later for the name of the guy I used, if he is still around.

 

I don't blame for not wanting to do it. It's probably cheaper to make new sights. Also, they don't have to deal with people's guns/slides.

 

The last set of Trijicon sights I had re-lamped (a couple years ago) it was $19 per lamp and that included the return shipping to you. I have had almost a dozen of my pistols sights re-lamped. Turn around time was usually less than 4 weeks.

I'm sure they re-lamp Trijicon sights. I just had them install a set on my Combat Commander. Turn around was quick, I'm very happy with their work, and the pistol shot right to the sights @ 25 yds.

 

I had Trijicon re-lamp a front and rear for me earlier this year. It was $40 and they did them in 5 or 6 days.

They were super easy to work with.

i have a wilson 45 auto with tritium sights; that no longer "glow". i contacted xssights who i belive made the sights. they messaged me that they do not replace the tritium (i don't know why, since they installed the tritium once)?? does anyone replace the tritium in sights??
